The 2024 season for the City of London’s two courses, Thames Valley Golf Course and Fanshawe Golf Course, begins this week on Thursday, April 4, beginning at 10 a.m., weather permitting.

This year marks a special milestone for Thames Valley Golf Course as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. Established in 1924, the 18-hole classic course runs along the Thames River and features picturesque elevation changes along with mature tree-lined fairways. The 9-hole Hickory Course at Thames Valley Golf Course also has a mixture of par fours and threes with wider fairways and shorter holes popular with beginners, seniors and children.

More details will be shared later this spring about a celebration being planned to recognize the anniversary.

“London’s golf courses offer truly spectacular recreation opportunities for all ages,” says London Mayor Josh Morgan. “I hope Londoners take advantage of the upcoming spring season and get those swings in working shape. I’d also like to wish Thames Valley Golf Course a huge congratulations on 100 years of business. I know the 18-hole classic course holds great memories for many and the city looks forward to marking this momentous occasion.”

The City’s other golf course, Fanshawe Golf Course, is in the northeast area of London overlooking Fanshawe Lake. This course first opened in 1958 and consists of two 18-hole layouts.
