Income-Related Transit Program


On December 19, 2016, City Council approved changes to the current subsidized transit program. A new income-related transit program came into effect on January 1st, 2018, and offers a $52 monthly bus pass for eligible residents.

You can apply for the new income-related transit program in one of four ways:

2. Paper applications are available and can be picked up and returned to any of the City of London’s Social Service offices:

  • Social Services-Citi Plaza 355 Wellington Street Suite #248, 2nd Floor South Wing
  • Social Services-Westmount Shopping Centre, 785 Wonderland Rd. S
  • Social Services-London East, 1835 Dundas St.
  • Social Services-Northland Mall, 1275 Highbury Ave.
  • Social Services-South London Community Centre, 1119 Jalna Blvd.

Program Eligibility

The income-related transit program came into effect on January 1, 2018. This program offers a $52 monthly bus pass for eligible residents. To qualif, individuals must meet all of the following criteria: 

  1. You are a resident of London
  2. You are 18+ years of age (this means that seniors with low-income will be eligible to purchase a subsidized transit pass through this program)
  3. Current income is below Low Income Cut Off After-Tax (LICO-AT) – see chart below (updated December 11th, 2018)

*If a resident is in receipt of Ontario Works, they should contact their caseworker. Assistance with transportation costs may be available through Ontario Works.

Purchasing

Subsidized bus passes can be purchased at any of the following locations:

  • Canada Aquatic Games Centre, 1045 Wonderland Rd N
  • Citi Plaza, 355 Wellington Street Suite #248, 2nd Floor South Wing
  • City Hall, 300 Dufferin Ave
  • Kiwanis Seniors’ Community Centre, 78 Riverside Dr
  • Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre, 656 Elizabeth St
  • North London Optimist Community Centre, 1345 Cheapside St
  • South London Community Pool, 585 Bradley Ave
  • LTC Head Office, 450 Highbury Ave N
  • LTC Downtown Information Office, 150 Dundas St

Please bring government issued ID when purchasing your bus pass.
