The London Fire Department has four Certified Fire and Life Safety Educators available to speak to your group or class. We offer a wide range of programming to fit all needs and ages such as:
- Pre-school, Elementary school and Secondary school fire safety programming
- Caregiver and Babysitting Fire Safety Programs
- Summer Camp Fire Safety Programs
- Risk Watch School Program
- Workplace Fire Safety Training
- Industrial Fire Safety Training
- Seniors Fire Safety Programs
- High/Low Rise Fire Safety Training for Managers or Tenants
- YMCA Children's Safety Village
Please contact us to book an Educator for your group. There is no charge for these services for residents of the City of London and it is simple for Building Managers to register for the High/Low-rise fire safety seminar.
Students, clubs, associations and citizens are invited to book a tour of their local fire station. During station tours, participants have the opportunity to meet the men and women dedicated to your safety. Learn about the London Fire Department vehicles and the firefighting equipment that firefighters use on a daily basis. This is a great opportunity for participants to learn about fire safety with the people who make it happen.
Booking a tour
A minimum of two weeks notice is required to book a station tour. Tour times may be booked 7 days a week with start times of 9:00 or 9:30 am, 1:00 or 1:30 pm or 7:00 pm. Station tours are 1 hour in length. In order to accommodate the operational needs of the Firefighters, please do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to the start of the tour. Due to restricted parking at halls, carpooling is advised. Transportation must remain available on site as tours may be interrupted or cancelled on short notice due to call volume. The maximum group size is 24 people, with a ratio of 1 adult per 4 children. Children must be at minimum 4 years of age to participate. Please advise us when booking if anyone in your group requires special accommodation (wheelchairs etc). If a tour must be cancelled due to call volume, the London Fire Department will work to accommodate an alternative date.
Please note that tours are conducted only in the Apparatus area and do not include the staff quarters.
Booking a vehicle display
A minimum of two weeks notice is required to book a vehicle display. Vehicles will remain on site for a maximum of 1 hour. Event must have a minimum of 35 people attending. When determining your site plan, please ensure that the vehicle has immediate access to a way out should they need to respond to an emergency.
Please note, Fire crews and vehicles are first and foremost an integral part of the Emergency Services team. We do not take a vehicle out of service in order to provide a display, and they may be called to respond to an emergency at any time.
