Beginning at 6 p.m. on the evening of Friday, August 2, and continuing over the long weekend, the intersection of King Street and Talbot Street will be closed to motorists and cyclists as part of the 2019 York & Talbot core construction project.
At this intersection, one lane will remain open for left turns off of King Street onto Talbot Street. Those heading south on Talbot Street will be diverted at Dundas Street unless looking for access to parking. There will be no exit on Talbot Street north of York Street. Advance warning signage will be in place for road users before work begins.
Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be able to get through the intersection during construction.
Crews will re-open the intersection of King and Talbot Streets by 7 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, August 6.
- Access to the Covent Garden Market parking garage will be provided via Covent Market Place off of Talbot Street. Police officers will be onsite to help direct traffic at the intersection and outside of the Covent Garden Market parking garage.
- The City of London will be offering free two-hour parking on August 3, 4 and 5 at Municipal Lot 8 outside of Budweiser Gardens for those visiting local businesses the downtown core.
