During the week of May 8-13th, the City of London and its community partners will be participating in national Emergency Preparedness Week. This year, our focus will be on individual preparedness; ensuring you and your family know the risks and has a plan in case of an emergency. The City and its partner agencies are committed to making London resilient in the event of an emergency; however emergency preparedness is everyone’s responsibility. We rely on you to prepare at home so we can help those most in need.
Activities commence 10:00 a.m. May 8th at the Emergency Operations and Training Centre (275 Boler Road) with the Mayor’s Official Opening Address, where we will launch our brand new emergency notification system, Alert London!
The week continues with community displays at Kiwanis Senior's Centre on May 9th and Stoney Creek YMCA and Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre on May 11th. Join us for our annual Emergency Preparedness Open House at the City’s Emergency Operations and Training Centre May 13th for a tour of the facility, interactive displays, first responder demonstrations and meet our partners responsible for making London one of Canada’s safest communities. All events are free and open to everyone!
We are prepared…are you?
