According to the National Household Survey in 2011, London's unemployment rate was 9.0 per cent.
In 2011, 8.4 per cent of workers were self-employed. Similar to 2006, just over one-quarter of all workers worked in sales and service occupations. Health Care and Social Assistance, Retail Trade and Manufacturing are London's top three industries.
28 per cent of Londoners age 15 and older identified that they had received their high school diploma or equivalent. This is similar to Ontario where 27 per cent have completed high school.
Seventeen percent reported that they had not received a certificate, diploma or degree. This compares to 22 percent across Ontario.
Just over half of Londoners 55 per cent age 15 and older have some sort of post secondary certificate, diploma or degree.
