About the Federal Election

Your participation in the democratic process is important to the City of London. The federal election will be held on October 21, 2019. The City of London is committed to helping residents understand how federal decisions impact local issues so that all Londoners can be informed as federal candidates ask for your vote on October 21.

The City of London is the eleventh largest city in Canada, and plays an important role in creating social and economic opportunity for our citizens and the 2.5 million residents across Southwest Ontario. Londoners are highly skilled, innovative and entrepreneurial and London City Council has identified the following priority issues that will require solid partnership with the next Government of Canada:

  • Mental Health and Addictions
  • Housing
  • Economic Prosperity and Jobs
  • Climate Change

Please explore the resources to be found in the City of London’s 2019 federal election website to find out more about these priority local issues. Included on this site are issue backgrounders on the City of London’s priorities, a survey we have addressed to federal parties, and an “Ask About London” document that provides some questions you could ask at the door.
