Beaver Protocol Pilot Project No.2 - Powel Drain Wooded Area Tree Wrapping


Beavers currently reside within the upstream branch of the Stoney Creek (Powell Drain) west of Adelaide St. N south of Sunningdale Rd. E. Protecting mature seeding trees is critical to the growth of future generations of trees lost through beaver activities.

Between October 28th and November 2nd, 2015 approximately 30 to 40 (using over 60 meters of fencing material) trees were equipped with protective fencing.

Mature native trees that serve as key seed producers were marked to be wrapped.
