Southland Wastewater Treatment Plant

The City of London is constructing a new pumping station to replace Southland Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The Southland PCP is schedule for decommissioning. In order to continue the provision of reliable wastewater servicing in the area, portions of the plant will be modified to allow operation as a pumping station, moving wastewater flows from the current plant location to a new gravity sewer on Hamlyn Road.

UPDATE – January 2017

The construction phase of the Southland Pumping Station and Forcemain project will commence in late February, 2017.  Initially, construction will be limited to areas within the existing Southland Wastewater Treatment Plant and the adjacent parking lot at the east limit of Dennis Avenue.

Upon the arrival of spring, construction of the sanitary forcemain will continue along Dennis Avenue and Campbell Street.  There will be lane reductions and bus route modifications as a result. The tentative construction period for this phase of the project is planned from March 2017, to the end of May, 2017. This timing is also subject to the weather.

We thank you in advance for your patience while we complete this important infrastructure upgrade.
