Greenway WWTP Expansion

The Greenway WWTP Expansion project is now in the construction phase. The contract to construct the new and upgraded facilities has been awarded to North American Construction (1993) Ltd. (NAC) and construction started in December 2015. The entire construction project is expected to last 2-3 years.

While all construction activities are going to take place within the existing fence line, some construction traffic will require access for limited periods of time along Chelsea Avenue and in the parking area of Kensal Park. Every attempt will be made to limit the amount of time required for these activities and to minimize the impact to neighbouring residents.

Temporary truck Route on Chelsea

The Greenway Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion preliminary design identified issues on the west side of the plant that require modification to the park road way and the parking for the Dog Park.  The figure below shows the recent modifications moving the park road and parking to the north of the dog park. This design allows for an improvement of the site lines for traffic on the park road and does not impact the dog park itself.
