  • August 30, 2018: Road Closure on Platt's Lane at Western Road

    August 30, 2018

    Beginning Tuesday, September 4, Platt’s Lane will be closed to motorists and cyclists at Western Road to allow for a new manhole installation as part of the Western / Wharncliffe Road widening project. Traffic on Western Road will be maintained.

    During this time, pedestrians travelling north up Platt’s Lane will need to use the west side walk to access Western Road. To cross Western Road, the closest pedestrian crossing is available at the entrance to Althouse College. Pedestrians using the east sidewalk to travel north / south along Western Road will not be impacted.

    This closure is expected to last until the evening of Friday, September 7.

    London Transit Commission (LTC) Detours:

    Routes 9 and 33 will be on detour following Oxford and Wonderland. Visit LTC’s website for full Platt’s Lane detour routing information.

  • September 10, 2018: Southbound Lane Reductions on Western Road

    September 7, 2018

    Starting Monday, September 10 for up to one week, Western Road, between Oxford Street and Wharncliffe Road North, will be reduced to one lane from 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. for night work. Students may see bright lights and hear noise from construction machinery during these hours.

    A flagman will be onsite to direct traffic. Expect delays in the area.

    As always, pedestrians should take caution when walking through the construction area and continue to use one of the safe pedestrian crossings listed below.

    • Oxford Street
    • Platt’s Lane
    • Beaufort Street*

    *The Beaufort Street crossing, which was closed for work on Platt’s Lane last week, is expected to reopen on the evening of Friday, Septemeber 7.
