Richmond Street Infrastructure Renewal

The City of London will be reconstructing Richmond Street in 2020 to improve the quality and reliability of your water, sewer and road infrastructure. This work represents the third phase of London's Downtown Sewer Separation project which will remove century old combined sewers (both storm water and sanitary sewers in one pipe) and separate them with a new standard sewer system. This project will significantly improve the health of the Thames River by eliminating contaminants combined sewers cause.

The Location:

The Work:

  • Watermain and water services;
  • Sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and private drain connections;
  • Road reconstruction including new curbs and gutters.

The Transporation Impacts:

During this time, pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction zone. Cyclists are reminded to dismount to pass through the construction zone.

A signed detour route will be in place on Wellington Street for traffic heading north and on Clarence Street for traffic heading south
