Pathway Use

Along the Thames River, the City has developed the Thames Valley Parkway (TVP), a multi-use pathway system that stretches over 40 km and extends into many neighbourhoods. These pathways are asphalt surfaced and are between 2.4 and 4 meters wide to allow for a broad range of users including walkers, runners, cyclists, and roller bladders.  Many secondary pathway systems have been built or are planned to be built to bring more users to the system.

To ensure the safety of everyone, the pathways are intended for two-way use with a yellow line delineating the two lanes. Similar to traveling on the road, users are to keep to the right and be respectful of others.  The pathway system is open from 6am to 10pm.  The maximum speed permitted on the TVP is 20 km/hr but users are to travel at a speed appropriate for the activity level on the path; if busy please slow down.
