Big Bike Giveaway Collection

Big Bike Giveaway is a social enterprise that collects and repairs bicycles and gives them away for free on one day each year.  Donate your used, working bike.

This donation location is in association with the Outspokin Cycles Gravel Growler - Ilderton.

Wind Chime Ride

Location: Meet at the Harris Park Pavilion

Join this family-friendly ride, that will travel a 10 km loop, mostly along the Thames Valley Parkway.  Create your own wind chime and bring it for the ride (limited number of wind chimes also available at start).

CAN-BIKE Level 2 Training

Time: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Location: Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre, east parking lot at 656 Elizabeth Street

This course is a refresher (or introduction for some) to key bicycle handling skills for safer riding, including: the ABCs of bike care, bike security and traffic dynamics towards greater confidence on the road. Course does not take participants on the road.

Join this informal and family-friendly weekly ride.  Set off for a leisurely ride on a route decided on the spot, mostly along the Thames Valley Parkway.  Meet at the flag pole in Ivey Park.  Ride lasts approx. one hour.

Come and learn about what specific interests and challenges women have in cycling more, how to get more women riding, and meet other women cyclists.  Speakers include:

Bring your bike into the venue for storage.  Or, park your bike at the bike corral outside the Central Library 1/2 block east of the venue on Dundas.

Boler Mountain's Night at the Races

Location: Boler Mountain, 689 Griffith Street

Want to try mountain biking?  Come out for guided novice and intermediate trail rides, advanced races, live music, and discounted trail passes.

The evening will include:

  • Guided novice trail ride from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. and intermediate rides from 8:15 p.m. - dusk
  • Races 6:30 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. (60+ people)
  • Live Music from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. on the deck
  • Big Bike Giveaway drop off

Time: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: London Bicycle Café, 355 Clarence Street

Drop by the London Bicycle Café for a free coffee, donate an old bike to the Big Bike Giveaway, and register your bike with the Bike Registry Service to increase security and discourage theft.

London Bike Rides

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Location: Springbank Gardens, 285 Wonderland Road South

This is a one day FREE cycling adventure for individuals and families passionate about their active lifestyles. Choose one of three routes to suit your skill level:
 

Family 10 km ride along the accessible Thames Valley Parkway.

  • Start time window: 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. (as soon as you arrive and sign in, you can begin your adventure)

Recreational 35 km ride along the accessible Thames Valley Parkway and some quiet streets.

  • Start time window: 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. (as soon as you arrive and sign in, you can begin your adventure)

Intermediate 75 km ride on London streets and quiet rural roads surrounding London and Delaware (not fully accessible).

  • Pre-ride talk at 8:15 am. Start time 8:30 a.m.

The Bicycle Prom (Licensed 19+ event)

Time: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Location: London Brewing Co-Op, 521 Burbrook Place

Enjoy a fancy night out with your significant other and your bicycle!  The night starts at 6 p.m. with the cool stylings of our DJ and coupled with food from The Root Cellar. Fine drinks will be available to purchase from the London Brewing Co-op.

Tickets are $20/person with proceeds going to London Cycle Link advocacy efforts.  Tickets are available from the Squeaky Wheel Bicycle Co-op or the London Bicycle Café.
