Holiday and PD Day Skates
Additional public skate hours for Christmas, March Break and PD Days will be available at selected arenas and may pre-empt regularly scheduled skates.
Children (5 and under) must wear a CSA approved helmet for all public skating programs, a full face cage is recommended.
Skates are required for all programs.
One sledge is available at all arenas for public use. Please see arena staff to access it.
Public Skating: CSA approved helmets are recommended.
Parent, Caregiver, Tot Skating: Free to Adults (18 or older) to spend quality time with pre-schooler (5 and under) in a safe, quiet environment.
Parent, Caregiver, Tot Shinny: Free to adults (18 or older) to spend quality time with pre-schooler (5 an under) in a safe, quiet environment. Bring your own sticks and pucks and work on hockey skills. CSA approved, full caged helmet. This program has no ice cruisers.
Female Shinny/Introductory Hockey: Drop-in or pick-up hockey only for woman on a pay-as-you-play basis. CSA approved, full caged helmets are mandatory. Maximum of 20 players plus 2 goalies. Available at Farquharson arena only.
Adult Shinny: Drop-in or pick-up hockey on a first come, first serve basis. Maximum of 20 players plus 2 goalies (first two goalies play for free) Full equipment including CSA approved, full caged helmets are mandatory. Shoulder pads are optional. Available at Stronach and Kinsmen arenas only.
Family Skate: Excellent opportunity for families to have fun and exercise together. Children and youth must be accompanied by adults and vice versa. Skating assists (strollers and pylons) deemed safe are permitted.
Senior Skate: Adults (55+) are invited to enjoy music and exercise. Skating around the ice is the only activity permitted. No routines or skating as partners.
Senior Figure Skating: This skate is for Adults (55+) who are interested in performing basic figure skating moves including but not limited to backwards skating, turns and ice dancing. Figure skates are optional.
Senior Speed Skating: This skate is for Adults (55+) who are interested in skating fast. Speed skating skates are not required but are permitted.
Senior Free Style Skating: This skate is for Adults (55+) who are interested in performing hockey skating moves including but not limited to backwards skating and tight turns.

Youth Stick and Puck: (5-15 yrs.) Dads or Moms can come out with their child to practice stickhandling and improve their shots. An adult must accompany children on the ice. CSA approved full caged helmets are mandatory all skaters. This is a family program and not intended for hockey teams. $8.00 per family.
Adult Stick and Puck: (15 or older) Adults can bring their stick and puck to improve their shot and stickhandling. CSA approved full caged helmets are mandatory. $4.25 per person.
Sledge Stick and Puck: Participants with and without mobility challenges can use their sticks and pucks on the ice while seated in an accessibility/mobility device called a "sledge". CSA approved, full caged helmets and hockey gloves are required and participants MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN SLEDGE.
