Last Minute Ice - General Information


 

Last Minute Ice Booking General Information

You can now find and buy last minute ice time online at your convenience. Last minute ice is:

  • Considered as available ice 1-4 days from the date of booking.
  • A rental period in which available ice can be purchased at a discounted rate of $135.00/hour for prime time ice, and $107.00/hour for non-prime time ice. HST will be added to each rental.
  • Applicable to statutory holidays if the facility is already scheduled to be open.
  • Is not and cannot be used to replace regular bookings and will not be added to a seasonal contract.
  • Scheduled bookings cannot be cancelled and replaced with Last Minute Ice.
  • Booked on a first come first serve basis.
  • A booking that is final and non-refundable.
  • A minimum of 1 hour increments which contains 10 minutes of ice maintenance.
  • A rental contract provided by the City of London that must be signed and insured for a minimum of $2 million liability prior to the booking.

The City of London reserves the right to cancel Last Minute Ice bookings when it is considered to be used for profit or gain or is being abused to replace or in the place of regular ice bookings.

The City of London reserves the right to cancel or amend the implementation of Last Minute Ice at any time at its discretion.

Who Can Rent Last Minute Ice online?

There are two types of accounts that can rent ice online:

Family or Private Account: is used to register for City programs or rent facilities that are for your personal use. If you have a family or private account you can rent Last Minute Ice online and mandatory insurance will be added to your contract as an extra fee.

If you have your own insurance, you are unable to book online. Contact Parks and Recreation Customer Service at 519-661-5575 Monday – Friday from 8:15am and 4:30 pm. to book and provide proof of insurance coverage.

Affiliated Minor Hockey or Adult Organizations: if you are a coach registered with an affiliated London Minor Hockey organization and is pre-authorized by your organization to rent Last Minute Ice online, you can do so using your organization’s PIN and your personal barcode. You must obtain your organization’s PIN from your association’s Ice Convenor. Because the insurance requirement has been met by your organization, you will be able to book Last Minute Ice online with no additional insurance required.

Adult hockey organizations that have met the mandatory insurance requirement can book online using the account PIN and personal barcode.

How To Rent Last Minute Ice

There are 2 convenient options available:

1) By phone: For ice available today or tomorrow, contact Vicki Cloes at 519-661-2489 ext. 2586 or vcloes@london.ca  or Customer Service at 519-661-5575 Monday – Friday from 8:15am and 4:30 pm.

2) Online : For ice available 2 to 4 days in advance of the date of your search.

 

PLEASE NOTE: ARENA STAFF ARE NOT ABLE TO BOOK LAST MINUTE ICE.

 

Mandatory Liability Insurance Required to Rent Ice

The City of London requirement all ice renters to be insured for a minimum of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) coverage. If you are interested in renting ice, please read below for information regarding liability insurance.

Family or Private Accounts

If you are booking ice for a family or private rental, you are required to provide proof that your group has general liability coverage with a minimum limit of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) insurance before your rental takes place. If you want to rent ice online, mandatory insurance will be added to your contract as an extra fee.

 If you have your own insurance, you are unable to book online. Contact Parks and Recreation Customer Service at 519-661-5575 Monday – Friday from 8:15am and 4:30 pm. to book and provide proof of insurance coverage.

Affiliated Organizations

If you are booking ice as part of a youth or adult hockey organization account, you are required to provide proof that your group has a seasonal policy of general liability with a minimum limit of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) insurance prior to the start of the hockey season.  When the insurance requirement is met for your organization, you will be able to book Last Minute Ice online with no additional insurance required.
