Aquatics 2020


 

South London Community Pool will be closed until September 27 for maintenance.

 

What to expect at our pools:

  • Anyone entering the facility will be screened prior to being admitted
  • Masks are required in all areas except the pool itself.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled program. Proceed directly to the pool deck following directions from staff and posted signage.
  • Swimmers and spectators are reminded to keep 2 metres away from others at all times including in changerooms and on deck.
  • Changerooms, showers and lockers will be available for use during swim times. Please follow physical distancing requirements in these areas.
  • If the parent/caregiver is not required to participate, they are to view from the designated viewing area and will be required to wear a face covering or mask
  • Please limit the number of people attending with swimmers.
  • Please leave at the conclusion of your program through the designated exit points

                                                                                                                                                                             Swim Lessons

The City of London is offering learn to swim lessons. These have been modified to follow guidelines and health precautions as set out by the Province of Ontario and the Middlesex-London Health Unit, including physical distancing and group size restrictions.

Modifications include:

 

  • All lessons will be taught at a distance by qualified instructors to allow participants and staff to maintain a physical distance from others.
  • Participants in Preschool 1 to Swimmer 3 will be required to have a parent or caregiver (13 years and older) in the water with them for physical contact and safety purposes.
  • Please limit the number of people that accompany swimmers to one.  Designated viewing space is limited and those who choose to view a lesson must maintain a physical distance from others and wear a mask.
  • Equipment will be used and will be sanitized after use.
  • Swimmers must register in advance for their lessons online or by phone (519-661-5575).

 


Recreational Swimming

Modifications for Recreational Swimming

  • Pre-registration is not required however there will be limits on the number of swimmers.  Space is on a first come, first served basis.
  • All recreational swims will be 90 minutes long.
  • Pool capacities will be reduced to permit physical distancing.
  • Slides and climbing walls will not be open. The diving boards at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre will be open.

Lane Swimming

Modifications for Lane Swimming

  • Registration is required.
  • Registration will open one week prior to the date of the swim.
  • Spaces are first come, first served.
  • All lane swims will be 60 minutes long.
  • To permit physical distancing, one swimmer per 25 metre lane and two swimmers per 50 metre lane.  Members of the same household may share a lane (max of 2 swimmers)
  • Swimmers must register in advance for their swim time online or by phone (519-661-5575). Payment will be taken at the pool.

Aquafit Classes

Modifications for Aquafit Classes

  • All swimmers wishing to participate must register.
  • Registration will open one week prior to class.
  • Spaces are first come, first served.
  • Equipment is permitted and will be sanitized after each use.
  • Participants must register in advance for their class online or by phone (519-661-5575). Payment will be taken at the pool
