Through the Investment in Affordable Housing Program, new homes are being created in the City of London and Middlesex County.  These rents are set at or below average market rent in the city of London as determined by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).

These developments are NOT rent-geared-to-income housing and the rent will NOT be subsidized.

It is intended to help you find your own rental housing under the affordable housing program while on the centralized waiting list for rent-geared-to-income housing or a resident looking for fair market rent with a low or fixed income.

The City has established an income eligibility requirement that is five (5) times the monthly rent. *Occupancy standards apply.

Example: If the rent is $600/month, the maximum income the applicant can make is:
                $600.00 x 5 = $3000/month x 12 =$36,000/year

*Occupancy Standards determine what size of dwelling unit that a household is eligible for. (1 bedroom, 2 bedrooms, etc.)
