W12A Landfill Fees

The W12A Landfill Site accepts cash, debit, credit and payment on account (please note account application process requires two weeks for set up). 

See below for fees and charges at the Community EnviroDepots.  Please note that the EnviroDepots accept debit or credit payment only for construction, renovation & roofing materials.

W12A Landfill Disposal Fees - Residential Waste

  • Daily Cover Waste $9.00 per tonne

  • Business Waste (minimum vehicle tare weight of 10 tonnes) $43.00
  • Asbestos Waste $350 for first load, $100 per subsequent load plus $75 per tonne

  • Leaves & brush: No charge
  • Blue Box recyclables: No charge
  • Tires, propane tanks, batteries, EMPTY oil and antifreeze: No charge
  • Fluorescent tubes and bulbs: No charge
  • Electronics, TVs & monitors: No charge
  • Appliances containing refrigerant: coming soon: a $35 per unit fee will apply for disposal.  Includes fridges, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers & water coolers.
  • Scrap metal: No charge

Community EnviroDepot Fees (28 Clarke Road, 1450 Oxford Street West & 21463 Clarke Road located at Try Recycling's North Facility)

  • Grass clippings: $1.50 per bag
  • Leaves: No charge
  • Bagged residential garbage: $1.50 per bag
  • Blue Box recyclables: No charge
  • Tires, propane tanks, batteries, EMPTY oil and antifreeze: No charge
  • Fluorescent tubes and bulbs: No charge
  • Electronics, TVs & monitors: No charge
  • Note: These Depots DO NOT accept furniture or mattresses.  If you have curbside collection, set-out with your regular garbage or deliver to the W12A Landfill Site (fees apply).
     
  • Renovation/construction and roofing materials $25.00 minimum load, $50.00 per car/van/SUV load, $70.00 per pick-up truck load, $70.00 per single axle trailer load (effective Jan 1, 2016).  Debit or Credit payment ONLY
     
  • Composters: $35 per unit (tax included)
  • Woodchips, compost, soil/compost mix: $5 per bag

Waste Collection Fees

  • Multi-residential properties - second collection per week: $4.50 per unit, per year
  • Multi-residential properties - extra collections: $130.00 per hour
  • Multi-residential buildings - bin rental $25.00 per month per bin
  • Multi-residential buildings - additional pick-up service requested: $50 per event (effective Jan 1, 2016)
  • Waste Management By-law WM12 Part 12 (Owner has failed to comply with WM12, Part 12; City collects waste at expense of owner): $130.00 per hour; $130.00 minimum per event

Definitions

Standard landfill disposal fees are tipping fees that are assessed to waste being disposed of at a landfill and do not require pre-approval from the City.

Pre-approved landfill disposal fees are tipping fees that may apply to certain types or quantities of waste disposed of at a landfill but disposal of the waste requires pre-approval from the City before these tipping fees can be assessed. Standard landfill disposal fees apply if the disposal of the waste is not pre-approved.

Residential waste shall mean garbage and rubbish generated from residential curbside premises and multi-family building premises (refer to Waste Management By-law WM-12 for definition of garbage, rubbish, residential curbside premises and multi-family premises).

Business waste shall mean garbage, rubbish and trade waste generated from industrial, commercial and institutional properties but shall exclude resource materials and non-collectable waste except for trade waste (refer to Waste Management By-law WM-12 for definition of garbage, rubbish, trade waste, resource materials and non-collectable waste).

Charitable organization waste shall mean garbage, rubbish and trade waste generated from organization that has registered charitable status (refer to Waste Management By-law WM-12 for definition of garbage, rubbish and trade waste).

Daily cover waste shall mean solid non-hazardous waste from a "Brownfield site" that is suitable for use as cover material.

Brownfield waste shall mean solid non-hazardous waste from a "Brownfield site" that is not suitable for use as cover material.  For information on the Brownfield waste application process, please contact Erin Helm, Solid Waste Management, 519 661-2500 ext. 0053 or at ehelm@london.ca

Recycling process residuals shall mean residuals produced from the recycling and/or composting of materials at facilities licensed by the Ministry of the Environment.

Asbestos waste shall mean solid waste that results from the removal of asbestos-containing construction or insulation material or the manufacture of asbestos-containing products and contains asbestos in more than a trivial amount or proportion.

Grass clippings shall mean clippings produced from a lawn mower or lawn trimmer.

Renovation materials shall mean waste materials from the construction/renovation of residential buildings and shall include fixtures, shingles, wood, drywall and other materials as appropriate.

Multi-residential properties - second collection per week refers to twice per week collection for buildings that received twice per week collection as of January 1, 2005 and new buildings that require twice per week collection.

Multi-residential properties - extra collections refers to multi-residential buildings that received once per week collection as of January 1, 2005.
