To carry out complex tasks to the highest standard, personnel require extensive training. The Training Division constantly strives to provide up-to-the-minute techniques and procedures with the goal of protecting the citizens of London, while at the same time keeping firefighters as safe as possible.
At any time, personnel may have to handle all manner of emergency situations. That spells out the need for a wide variety of training scenarios including; vehicle extrication, hazardous materials, defibrillator operations, CPR, emergency medical response, first aid, ice and water rescue, technical rescue and command procedures, as well as the latest firefighting techniques.
The Training Complex is located at 746 Wellington Road South. It includes a four-storey fire training tower, a two-storey smoke house and a classroom.
