Mornington Area Storm Drainage Servicing

The City of London has retained Stantec Consulting Ltd. to undertake a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to investigate storm drainage and sanitary sewer overflow conditions within the Quebec Street and surrounding area. The study is being undertaken in accordance with the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process (2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, and 2015).

The existing storm drainage and sanitary infrastructure within the Mornington area is approaching or exceeds 100 years of age, is under capacity, and requires improvements. The study will include a review of potential solutions to the capacity concerns within the existing storm drainage infrastructure and the development of a sanitary servicing strategy. Potential alternative solutions include improvements to existing infrastructure and/or the implementation of a stormwater storage facility.

A public information centre to present the alternatives considered for the study is planned for Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
