The City of London has undertaken a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study for improvements to the Fanshawe Park Road/Richmond Street intersection. The City’s Smart Moves Transportation Master Plan (TMP) identified several improvements to the intersection, including additional through and turning lanes on Fanshawe Park Road and Richmond Street and pedestrian and cyclist friendly design features. Building on the TMP, a preferred design of the improvements has been developed in more detail as part of this Class EA study.

The study has evaluatde all the options with respect to the road cross sections. Land uses, access opportunities and property impacts being a big factor in the evaluation of the options. The preferred design concept is both functional and attractive in its appearance.

Public input was welcome throughout the study.  Two Public Information Centres were held in  2015/2016 to present the preferred alternative.
