Parents and children of all ages are invited to explore playing with everyday materials with a hands-on play session led by U.K. based Pop-Up Adventure Play Organization and hosted by the City of London.
Stopping in London as part of their Pop-Ups Canada Tour 2017, Pop-Up Adventure Play Organization is facilitating the free Pop-Up Adventure session on Tuesday, August 1, at Boyle Community Centre. Group bookings are available between 9:30-3:30 p.m. with registration available by contacting Sally Thomson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 519-661-CITY ext. 5738. A free, drop-in session is open to the public between 4:30 – 7:30 p.m., no registration is required to attend the evening session.
“We’re so excited to host Pop-Up Adventure Play Organization in London and give local educators, parents and children the opportunity to experience a different style of play,” says Sally Thomson, Supervisor, East Area Recreation Services at the City of London. “The team is bringing a large display of loose parts and adventure fun for children of all ages and abilities.”
Pop-Up Adventure Play Organization was formed in 2010 with the intention of developing a holistic, low-cost, community based approach to supporting Children’s play. The program allows children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to explore, transform, create and destroy in a safe, supportive environment using a variety of everyday materials.
Pop-Up Adventure Play Organization is also facilitating a sold-out professional development session on Monday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m. for educators and professionals.
