Overnight Parking Ban Eases for the May Long Weekend

Beginning Friday evening, May 17, 2019, residents and visitors will be allowed to park personal vehicles overnight on most city streets, abiding by City of London parking signage.

This eases the restriction, in which drivers are required to use an overnight parking pass between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. between Labour Day and Victoria Day. The restriction will be upheld again after the Labour Day long weekend, Monday, September 2.

The overnight bylaw exemption does not apply to commercial motor vehicles, mobile homes or trailers, as they have their own regulations.

The by-law also stipulates that no vehicles will be permitted to park on City streets for longer than 12 hours at a time. Overnight parking cannot occur in locations where parking is otherwise prohibited or restricted, such as in front of fire hydrants, on boulevards, front lawns, or streets identified by signs as being enforced, please see schedule 2 for streets where overnight parking is prohibited.
