King Street Cycle Lane Improvements

City of London

Public Service Announcement

April 5, 2019

Beginning Monday, April 8, 2019 work will begin work on the King Street Cycle Lane Improvement Project, between Ridout Street and Colborne Street. Two lanes of vehicle through traffic will be maintained in the construction area. Expect lanes to be shifted to the north.

During construction, segments of the existing bike lane on King Street will be temporarily closed; cyclists should ride with caution and follow instructions on temporary signage. When the bike lane is closed, cyclists may use the detour route via Dufferin Avenue or choose to ride in shared traffic lanes. Motorists are reminded to stay alert and give cyclists their space to safely navigate downtown.

Please refrain from parking in the construction zone and keep an eye out for bagged (and therefore, unusable) parking meters. Links to alternative parking options can be found on the core construction landing page and/or accessed via Honk Mobile.

Night work will occur as part of this project. Road users should stay alert and expect construction activity during the day and in the evening.

London Transit (LTC) bus service will continue to operate on King Street. Some LTC stops on King Street may require temporary relocation during construction.
