National Youth Week - May 1st to 7th!

 

The week of May 1 - 7 is a time nationally to celebrate the vital contributions young people make to the quality of life in our city and neighbourhoods.  All over London this week, young people in London are leading and taking part in activities to highlight this.

The London Youth Service Providers Committee, a group of non-profit  organizations who work with and on behalf of young people, would like to highlight the following events.  None of these events should be missed!

May 1st / 6:30 - 8:30 pm South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre presents:  A Youth Fashion Show. Garments designed, and created by young people.  Contact Cathy Devries at 519 686-8600, ext. 7384 for more information.

May 2nd / 6:30 - 8:45 pm London Youth Council, Pillar Non Profit Network, London Community Foundation and London Public Library present:  A Celebration of Youth Volunteerism through Youth Volunteer Awards at the Wolf Performance Hall.  Contact Nicole St. John at 519 433-7876.

May 2nd / 4:00 - 8:00 pm Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School Dynamic Dozen Southeast Team Auditions:  Contact Alan Dalby at 226 236-2981 for more information.

All Week! London Public Library - Read Away Your Fines - all branch locations are offering the chance for young people ages 12 - 18 to reduce or eliminate their library fines through timed reading at the branch.  For more information, contact Julie Brandl at 519 661-5100, ext. 5850
