Similar to your home or business the City prioritizes different parts of the drinking water system for replacement, rehabilitation, or maintenance.  Using a menu of these different tools and options, the City can ensure that you have a safe and reliable drinking water supply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In some cases it is necessary to replace the watermains on your street because the pipe has reached its useful life.  On other watermains, it may be possible to rehabilitate the pipe using a liner or some other tool which extends the life and usually is done without ripping up the entire road.  In other situations, it may be possible to simply carry out some minor maintenance activities to prolong the life of the infrastructure.
