McCormick Area Study

Where is the McCormick area?
If you've ever travelled on Dundas Street east of Quebec Street, you've
passed right through the McCormick area.
It includes the lands north of Dundas
Street and east of Ashland Avenue that extend north to the CP railway tracks and
wind to the west behind the residential streets Burbrook, Dorinda, Charlotte and
Woodman.
Why is it called the "McCormick" area?
The study takes its name from one of the most well-known landmarks of the
area - the former McCormick Biscuit Factory, which still stands on the site at
1156 Dundas Street. The 10-acre McCormick factory is now vacant, but in its day
over 1,000 people were employed there. 135,000 pounds of candy and 100,000
pounds of biscuits were produced daily.
What's the study about?
The City of London Planning Division is exploring ideas for how this land
could be used in the future. We want to hear from you what you envision for the
area - and the sky's the limit - anything goes at this stage.
How can you participate?
Put on your designing caps and give us your ideas! You can let us know your
thoughts by simply sending an email explaining your concept, by submitting a
drawing if you're artistically inclined, or by joining our
online discussion
forum.
