Compost Value Day

Compost Value Day is organized by London Composts.  London Composts is an environmental partnership of businesses, non-profit organizations and local government working collectively to raise awareness of:

  • The value of composting as a way to recycle organic waste,
  • The use of compost to improve the soil quality for growing plants, and
  • The benefits of sharing fruits and vegetables grown in compost enriched soil.

For information about London Composts, call 519 645-7733.

The compost sold on Compost Value Day is made from the City's leaf and yard materials collection program. Proceeds go to the non-profit organizations that provide volunteers on the day.

This past May over $10,000 was raised for the charities involved.  Over 150 tonnes of compost was sold on this day.

Proceeds from Compost Value Day go to:

Boys and Girls Club
St. Leonard's Society
