Stanley Cup fever hits London on Thursday
Los Angeles Kings stars and London natives Drew Doughty and Jeff Carter will
bring The Stanley Cup to London this Thursday, August 23 to share with fans.
Jeff, Drew and their families will first stop at City Hall at 11:30 a.m. for a
brief welcoming ceremony with the Mayor and Council.
At noon they will climb aboard the London Police Department’s RG12 LAV that will
escort them and the Cup from City Hall to the John Labatt Centre for a fan
celebration. The route from City Hall proceeds via Wellington Street south to Dundas Street, west on Dundas to Talbot, south on Talbot to the JLC. The will arrive
at the JLC at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Fans can enter the JLC through Gate 1 starting at noon.
Upon arrival at the JLC, Drew, Jeff and the Cup will be escorted to Gate 1 and
into the arena. Pete James, London Knights colour commentator, will act as MC.
Pete will give a brief presentation followed by a few questions to both Drew and
Jeff. Following this, the Cup will be on display until exactly 1:30 p.m. when
Drew and Jeff must depart for other celebration activities.
The FOX LA television channel and the NHL network will be here to record the
event.
