Cooling Centres help beat the heat

Chill out! Cooling centres are available during this Extreme Heat Alert issued by the Middlesex-London Health Unit. Community centres, spray pads and public library locations are open for anyone who needs to beat the heat.

Community Centres

Feel free to drop-in and cool off. Across the city, 10 community centres are open:

London Public Library locations are deemed cooling stations and everyone is welcome to cool off in any of the branches. Please call 519-661-4600 or check the London Public Library website for locations and hours.

Spray pads are open daily 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 12 locations in the city:

The wading pool in Springbank Park is also open 1:30 pm to 6 pm.
 

Services for the homeless

Emergency shelters will be making special arrangements to provide cooling spaces and hydration. Outreach teams, including London CAReS will be extra vigilant to spot and assist individuals suffering in the heat.
