"Exploding" water bottles

The City of London and London Police Service want to reassure Londoners that there has been no safety alert issued regarding “exploding” water bottles in city parks.

More than a month ago there was one isolated incident of a suspicious water bottle reported to police. Police dealt with the matter and no one was injured.

Police and City of London Parks and Recreation staff are always on alert for objects in city parks that could cause harm to visitors.

Londoners are reminded that if they observe something that is suspicious, report the incident to the proper authorities rather than deal with the incident on your own.
