FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

London Clean & Green celebrates 17 years with annual Community Clean up

The 12 Days of Cleaning comes to a head this weekend with the annual London Clean & Green Community Cleanup Day taking place tomorrow at various locations across the city. This is our 17th annual spring cleaning and everyone is invited to come out and join in as we tidy up The Forest City.

“Londoners are great for getting the job done”, says Mayor Fontana. “The effort made by thousands of residents for Clean & Green is astounding and recognized nationally. Thank you to everyone who stoops to pick up the empty cup or grabs a rake and pitches in. Londoners love their city and it shows.”

Volunteers will be picking up garbage and doing their part to spruce up the city. Designated meeting sites will be set up where volunteers can receive information and instruction, and get equipped with garbage bags, gloves, t-shirts, etc. You can add your own location anywhere in the city. All you need to do is register at www.cleangreen.london.ca  Then find us on Facebook and post your clean up photos! https://www.facebook.com/londoncleangreen.

As an added incentive, participating high school students can earn credits towards their Certificate of Community Service.

The designated meeting locations Saturday morning open at 9 a.m and include:

Central Covent Garden Market Square (Talbot & King)

Home Depot (Fanshawe Park Rd. & Adelaide St.)

Moffat & Powell (Hyde Park north of Sarnia Rd)

Canada Games Aquatic Centre (Wonderland Rd. north of Lawson Rd.)

Springbank Park (west entrance parking lot by Boler Rd.)

Hendrix Restaurant Equipment (Rectory St. & Dundas St.)

Argyle Arena (Wavell St. east of Clarke Rd.)

South London Community Pool (Bradley Ave. & Jalna Blvd.)

The City of London thanks all sponsors and volunteers for their enthusiastic participation year after year.
