Cab-Limousine
City of London Cab-Limousine
Licensing By-Law L-126-256
Obtain an application form at the Building Division, 300 Dufferin Avenue (519
930-3515). You will be given a copy of the Cab Limousine
By-law to study.
English Pre-requisite
Applicants requesting to write the English Assessment Exam will be confirmed in the
Building Division on scheduled dates. Exams will be held at City Hall in the Council Chambers
starting at 10:00 a.m. sharp ending at 12:00 p.m. The fee to write the exam is $30.00 plus GST and must be paid prior to the exam.
Cab-Limousine Driver's Training Course
Applicants can enrol in the Cab Limousine Driver Training course made available through Aboutown Transportation or Voyageur Limousine.

City of London Taxi Limousine Driver's Exam
Applicants who have successfully passed the English Assessment Exam and completed the Cab-Limousine Driver Training Course can write the Final Exam to be held at City Hall. Please inquire on the schedule of dates. Final Exams are held at 10:00 a.m. sharp ending at 12:00 p.m. The fee to write the Final Exam is $40.00 plus GST and must be paid prior to the exam. Applicants will submit their application to the
Building Division with the following:
- class G Driver's Licence
- a completed application form
- proof of completion of an English Assessment Exam
- proof of:
- Canadian Citizenship
- Landed Immigrant Status
- Work Permit issued by the Government of Canada
- a passport-sized colour photograph
- a Police Records Check, Vulnerable Position Screening from London Police dated no later than 30 days prior to the application
- Ministry of Transportation driver's abstract dated no later than 30 days prior to the application
The application and supporting documents will be evaluated and based on the above information be either approved or rejected. Please note that incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Licence Fee
The licence fee is $75.00
Challenge Exam
Applicants who are not presently licensed, but who have been licensed as a City of London Cab-Limousine Driver within the past
three years, and have proof, are eligible to write the Challenge Exam. Arrangements must be made with the
Building Division to
write this exam. The fee is $40.00 plus GST.
