The W12A Landfill Site accepts cash, debit, credit and payment on account (please note account application process requires two weeks for set up).

Definitions

  1. Standard Landfill Disposal Fees are tipping fees that are assessed to waste being disposed of at a landfill and do not require pre-approval from the City.
  2. Pre-approved Landfill Disposal Fees are tipping fees that may apply to certain types or quantities of waste disposed of at a landfill but disposal of the waste requires pre-approval from the City before these tipping fees can be assessed. Standard landfill disposal fees apply if the disposal of the waste is not pre-approved.
  3. Residential waste shall mean garbage and rubbish generated from residential curbside premises and multi-family building premises (refer to Waste Management By-law WM-12 for definition of garbage, rubbish, residential curbside premises and multi-family premises).
  4. Business waste shall mean garbage, rubbish and trade waste generated from industrial, commercial and institutional properties but shall exclude resource materials and non-collectable waste except for trade waste (refer to Waste Management By-law WM-12 for definition of garbage, rubbish , trade waste, resource materials and non-collectable waste).
  5. Charitable Organization Waste shall mean garbage, rubbish and trade waste generated from organization that has registered charitable status (refer to Waste Management By-law WM-12 for definition of garbage, rubbish and trade waste).
  6. Daily Cover Waste shall mean solid non-hazardous waste from a "Brownfield site" that is suitable for use as cover material.
  7. Brownfield Waste shall mean solid non-hazardous waste from a "Brownfield site" that is not suitable for use as cover material.
  8. Recycling Process Residuals shall mean residuals produced from the recycling and/or composting of materials at facilities licensed by the Ministry of the Environment.
  9. Asbestos Waste shall mean solid waste that results from the removal of asbestos-containing construction or insulation material or the manufacture of asbestos-containing products and contains asbestos in more than a trivial amount or proportion.
  10. Grass Clippings shall mean clippings produced from a lawn mower or lawn trimmer.
  11. Renovation Materials shall mean waste materials from the construction/renovation of residential buildings and shall include fixtures, shingles, wood, drywall and other materials as appropriate.
  12. Multi-residential Properties - second collection per week refers to twice per week collection for buildings that received twice per week collection as of January 1, 2005 and new buildings that require twice per week collection.
  13. Multi-residential Properties - extra collections refers to multi-residential buildings that received once per week collection as of January 1, 2005.
