Transportation Advisory Committee
A city's transportation plan governs the planning and implementation of pedestrian, bicycle, transit, road and parking facilities. The Transportation Committee will advise and support City Council in the implementation of the City's current and future Transportation Plan by:
- publicizing the benefits and importance of the initiatives designed to achieve the objectives of the Transportation Plan;
- encouraging public participation in the initiatives designed to achieve the objectives of the Transportation Plan;
- reviewing the following for conformity with the objectives of effective transportation planning;
- the budgets and programs of the City's divisions, boards and commissions (where applicable);
- the Transportation Demand Management Co-ordinator's Business Plan;
- transportation planning studies carried out for the City of London;
- the long term capital plans for pedestrians, bicycle, transit, road and parking facilities;
- proposed by-laws and land use plans that affect transportation matters;
- reporting to the
Environment and Transportation Committee, on a regular basis; and
- recommending and advising on new transportation planning initiatives.
Voting Members
Eleven members consisting of:
Three members-at-large, one of whom should be an active cyclist and a participant in activities supporting or promoting cycling as an alternative mode of transportation

London Development Institute
Thames Region Ecological Association
Council for London Seniors
Old East Village Business Improvement Area
Accessibility Advisory Committee
Non-Voting Resource Group

Concurrent with the term of the Municipal Council making the appointment.
Appointment Policies
Through local newspaper advertisements, the City of London website and postings at local library branches, citizens are invited to apply for appointment. The members-at-large are appointed by the Municipal Council, on the recommendation of the Board of Control.
The various organizations cited in the composition of the Committee nominate their representatives who are appointed by the Municipal Council on the recommendation of the Board of Control.
The Chair and Vice-Chair are elected by the Committee from among its Voting Members.
Qualifications
Any person who has a general interest in transportation issues may be appointed as a member-at-large. The representatives should be members of the organizations they represent. Each representative should bring his/her special knowledge, expertise and commitment to the Committee.

Persons interested in submitting an application for appointment may complete and submit the
application form available on the City's website.
The Committee meets four times annually at City Hall on a scheduled day and week and at such other times as might be required at the call of the Chair.

No remuneration is paid to the Advisory Committee members.
