Online Building Permits System
Welcome to our online Building Permits System. We are pleased
to announce that registered home builders can now apply online for permits to
build new homes and to submit CAD drawings along with their permit applications.
Our Plans Examiners will review the house plans using their computers, red-line
any revisions required and, once the plan review is complete, notify the home
builder when the permit is ready to be issued. Home builders can pay their
permit fees on line using their financial service providers online banking
services.
With this enhancement to our online service, plumbing contractors, home
owners and home builders can all take advantage of the system to apply for the
following types of permits:
1. Plumbing repair and
installation permits (All work on Private Property).
2. Residential additions and
alterations for single-detached dwellings (Not Condos) submitting CAD drawings.
3. Residential erect for
single-detached dwellings, semi-detached dwellings and townhouse buildings
submitting CAD drawings (available for registered homebuilders only).
Applying for your building permit
If you are a homeowner and do not plan to be a repeat user, there is no need
to pre-register to use the system. Click on the "Non-registered user" button below
to make your application.

Repeat users, such as registered homebuilders, residential renovators or plumbing contractors are required
to pre-register their contact information with the City (please allow a minimum
of one business day for registration approval).
PRE-REGISTRATION will make it simpler for you to apply for online permits as
your contact information will be retained and automatically added to your online
permit applications.
After your registration request is processed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation.
This e-mail will include a temporary password to allow you access to the online
Building Permits System. Once you log on, you can create your permanent
password.
