Outdoor Recreational Skating season begins in early December.
During the Winter months, free public skating is available at two outdoor locations in downtown London.
Victoria Park Public Ice Skating
December 3 - March 16 (weather permitting)
Open daily from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. - Free
(Closed for ice resurfacing daily from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.)
Covent Garden Market Public Ice Skating
December 3 - March 16 (weather permitting)
Monday to Thursday & Saturday 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Friday *8 a.m.-7 p.m.
Sunday 11a.m.- 4 p.m.
*Knights games & special events at Budweiser Gardens until 7:30 pm
Storybook Gardens Skating Lanes

Holiday/ PD Day Skates
Additional public skate hours for Christmas, March Break and PD Days will be
available at selected arenas and may pre-empt regularly scheduled skates. Watch
for special bulletins with times and locations.
Skating Opportunities
Children (5 and under) must wear a CSA approved helmet for all public
skating programs, a full face cage is recommended.
PT (parent, or caregiver, tots) Skating/Shinny: Free to adults (18 or
older) to spend quality time with pre-schooler (5 and under) in a safe,
quite, environment. Skating assists (strollers, sledges, pylons) deemed
safe are permitted. See PT skating and PT shinny below.
Public Skating Only: Children 5 and under must wear CSA approved helmets.
PT Skating Only: Children 5 and under must wear CSA approved helmets. Parents /
Caregivers must wear Skates and CSA helmets are recommended.
PT Shinny Only: Bring your own sticks and pucks. Children and Parents /
Caregivers must wear skates and CSA approved helmets with full cage. This
program has no ice cruisers.
Female Shinny & Introductory Hockey: Drop-in or pick-up hockey
only for woman on a pay-as-you-play basis. CSA approved helmets, full caged
helmets are mandatory. Maximum of 20 players plus 2 goalies (goalies play for free).
Adult Shinny: Drop-in or pick-up hockey on a first come, first serve
basis. CSA approved, full caged helmets are mandatory. Maximum of 20
players plus 2 goalies (goalies play for free).
Family Skate: Excellent opportunity for families to have fun and exercise
together, children and youth must be accompanied by adults and vice versa.
Children (5 and under) must wear a CSA approved helmet. Skating assists (strollers,
sledges, pylons) deemed safe
are permitted.
Senior Skate: Adults (55+) are invited to enjoy music and exercise. This
program has no ice cruisers. CSA approved helmets are recommended.
CSA approved, full caged helmets are mandatory for most activities.
Roller/In-Line Skating
Available at North London Optimist Community Centre

Family Skate: Sundays 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Traditional Skate Rental: $2.75/pair
In-line rental not available. In-line skates can be used based on inspection to
ensure no harm will occur to the hardwood floor.

Neighbourhood Outdoor Ice Rinks
