Splash into summer at one of our free wading pools or spray pads. Wading pools offer an opportunity for your child to meet other children and to begin to develop their water confidence. The maximum depth of 2 feet (0.6 metres) is perfect for younger swimmers. A lifeguard is on site to organize games and activities for participants.

Safe swimming is important to us

We suggest that children have adult supervision at all times when enjoying the wading pools and spray pads. Children aged 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult or caregiver.

Wading pool and spray pad attire

Cloth or regular disposable diapers are not permitted in any of our pools, wading pools or spray pads. We recommend "Huggies Swim Pants", "Gabbies" swim suits or plastic pants with a tight fitting leg. Participants should also be in appropriate bathing attire (no fully nude bodies please), and we recommend sunscreen, a hat and swim shoes or sandals in and around these facilities.

All spray pads are operational from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

These accessible interactive water play areas have sensors that users push to activate the water play features. Features turn off when not in use. The water at the spray pads is "potable" water.

Spray pads are unsupervised and have no standing water. They are checked daily by our Facility Services Department. On occasion vandalism or maintenance issues may prevent a spray pad from being active. For spray pad maintenance issues please call 519-661-4965.

Wading Pool Information

Weather permitting - Each day the weather is assessed by Aquatic Services Staff.  In general, if the weather is 18 degrees C or warmer with no threat of rain at 9 a.m., the wading pools will open for the day.  If it is determined that the wading pools will be closed, it is difficult to re-open them in the event the weather improves.

On occasion, vandalism or maintenance issues may prevent a wading pool from opening.  We will post signs at the wading pool as soon as possible indicating the predicted re-opening date.
