Some Notes about Planning
Districts
Census data for the City of London is purchased from Statistics Canada and categorized
into planning districts by the Department of Planning and Development. Dissemination
areas (or DAs) are grouped according to the neighborhood boundaries in our community
to form these planning districts.
The 2006 edition features data for all three recent census periods (1996, 2001
and 2006) with the same Planning District boundaries.
Some Notes about the data
Statistics Canada rounds its data to the nearest "5". For this reason, some of
the numbers that appear in sections of this document may not appear to be equal
to numbers used in other sections, or totals may not be precise.
Data for ethnic origin, mother tongue, home language, and visible minority population
are presented in their entirety for all planning districts, even for those where
data is "0". This is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of all variables
for all planning districts.
