CONSENTS

The London Consent Authority will be considering the following application for consent no earlier than Comments Due By December 20, 2018

B.051/18 – 301 St George Street, and 124, 140 and 150 St James Street – Request to establish easements for access over 301 St George Street and 124, 140 and 150 St James Street, in favour of 291 and 295 St George Street, and 1 and 9 Grosvenor Street. Planner: M. Sundercock

B.052/18 – 515 Richmond Street, and 150 and 148 Dufferin Avenue – Request sever approximately 2180m2 for the purpose of future residential and commercial uses, and to retain approximately 7390m2 for the purpose of existing commercial uses. Planner: M. Sundercock

If a person or public body that files an appeal of a decision of the City of London Consent Authority in respect of the proposed consent does not make written submissions to the Consent Authority, before it gives or refuses to give a provisional consent, the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) may dismiss the appeal. 2018 Holiday Closures

The following City of London administrative offices will be closed from noon on Monday, December 24, 2018 until 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019:

  • City Hall, 300 Dufferin Avenue (no access to the building due to maintenance work)
  • CitiPlaza, 355 Wellington Street, 2nd floor
    • Neighbourhood, Children and Fire Services
    • Parks and Recreation
    • Housing and Social Services(Ontario Works)
  • Courts Administration, Provincial Offences Office, 824 Dundas Street
  • Environmental and Parks Planning, 267 Dundas Street
  • Housing Access Centre, 379 Dundas Street, Suite 116
  • Planning Division, 204/206 Dundas Street
  • Social Services Offices in Northland Mall, South London Community Centre, Westmount Shopping Centre, Glen Cairn Community Centre and London East)
  • Fire Administrative Offices 

 

Services Available During the Holidays

 

Aquatic Facilities:
Aquatic facilities at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre and the South London Pool will be closed December 24, 25, 26, and 31 and January 1. For more information visit london.ca/aquatics.


Arenas and Outdoor Ice Rinks:
Arenas will be closed December 24 and 31 at 11 a.m. and all day December 25 and January 1. All arenas will be open December 26 from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.  All arenas are open on December 27, 28, 29, and 30 and January 2. Call individual arenas for specific times related to public skating or refer to the online Skate Guide.
Victoria Park Ice Rink is open throughout the holidays (weather permitting) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.  The rink is closed for ice resurfacing from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.
Covent Garden Market Rotary Rink will be open (weather permitting) Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Knights Games and special events at Budweiser Gardens until 7:30 p.m.), and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ice Rentals from noon on December 24 to January 2 at 8:30 a.m. book ice time online at london.ca/spectrum.
 

Community Centres:
All community centres, including Kiwanis Seniors’ Community Centre and Hamilton Road Seniors’ Centre & Community Centre are closed on December 25 & 26 and January 1. During the holidays, hours will vary by Community Centre and by day. For details go to the Community Centres webpage or call 519-661-5575.
 

Spectrum Programs:
Spectrum programs and Seniors Satellites will not be running with the exception of advertised Day Camp opportunities on December 27-28 and January 2-4. Registration for programs can be completed online at any time through london.ca/Spectrum.  Customer Service will be open via e-mail, phone and in-person at Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre only from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. December 27 - 28. 


Storybook Gardens:
Open December 23 (10 a.m.-8 p.m.), December 24 and 26 (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.), Closed December 25. December 27-30 (open 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.), December 31 (open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.), New Year’s Eve Hoopla (open 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., register with Spectrum code 304387), January 1 (open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.), January 2-5 (open 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.), January 6 (open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.).

 

Social Services:
 
Applications for Ontario Works Assistance -
During the month of December, applications for Ontario Works assistance are scheduled through the Intake Screening Unit at 519-661-4520 Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 6:00 pm on Tuesday December 18, 2018. The Intake Screening Unit is closed from 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2018 until 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Online applications for Ontario Works can be accessed at any time at https://saapply.mcss.gov.on.ca.

Case Status and Cheque Information for Ongoing Ontario Works Participants - Over the holiday period, as throughout the rest of the year, Ontario Works participants can access information about their case by calling the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System at 1-800-808-2268. The IVR system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7).

Dearness Home - On call services available. Dearness Adult Day program closed December 25, 26 and January 1. Administration offices are closed December 24 and 31 at noon, December 25 - 26 and January 1.

Emergency Shelter and Food Services (Not a City service) - All emergency shelters remain open. Contact meal providers directly. For information on the name and telephone number of emergency shelters and meal program, call 519-661-4520. 

London Cares Homeless Response Services (Not a City service) - London Cares Street and Mobile Outreach phone service 519-667-CARE (2273).  Available 24/7. If you are concerned for someone’s well-being who may be experiencing homelessness, contact London Cares at 519-667-2273 (CARE).
