Committee Vacancies


The Striking Committee will be addressing the matter of citizen appointments to represent the Municipal Council on its advisory committees for a 2 year term, June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2021.

London residents 18 years or older or organizations interested in being considered for appointment to any of the committees listed below are asked to obtain, complete and return an application form by no later than Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. The application form is available on the City’s website at london.ca/advisorycommittee; from the City Clerk’s Office, 3rd floor, City Hall, 300 Dufferin Avenue; or by telephoning 519-661-2489 ext. 4599.
 

Accessibility Advisory Committee

Vacancy - up to 13 Members

Meet Once Monthly (Currently meet the 4th Thursday at 3:00 p.m.)

  • A majority of the members (minimum 7) shall be persons with disabilities
  • Five (5) members at large, who may have a disability, shall be persons interested in issues related to persons with disabilities

  • Members may have knowledge and expertise in, but not limited to the following area: Biology, Ornithology, Geology, Botany, Zoology, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Ecology, Resource Management, Hydrology, Geography, Environmental Planning, Limnology and Natural History

*Length of meetings shall vary depending on the agenda.  Meetings of working groups that have been formed by the Committee may meet at any time and at any location and are in addition to the regular meetings of the Committee.

City Council encourages applications for appointments to Advisory Committees from persons from all of the communities of diverse cultural interests and backgrounds that constitute the whole of London with the aim of obtaining the broadest possible representation of multicultural interests and perspectives on such bodies.


Applicants should be aware that all applications received will be considered in public and will be placed on a public agenda.  This personal information may be disclosed to the public and to the media by The City of London, upon request and may be included in publicly disclosed committee and Council reports, agendas and on the City of London’s internet website.      


Personal information collected in applications or related communications are collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, and will be used by Members of Council and City of London staff in their review of this matter.  The written submissions, including names and contact information, will be made available to the public, including posting on the City of London’s website, video recording of the standing committee and Council meetings where this matter will be discussed.
