On March 2, 2020, London City Council approved the 2020-2023 Multi-Year Budget which will result in an average annual property tax increase of 3.9%, marking the second time the city has approved a four-year budget.
Council has also approved the Water and Wastewater budgets with an average annual increase of 2.5% for water rates and an average annual increase of 3.4% for wastewater and treatment rates.

The City of London has tabled its second Multi-Year Budget that covers 2020 through 2023. This Multi-Year Budget comes with its own unique opportunities and challenges. With a new 2019-2023 Strategic Plan providing the foundation, the Multi-Year Budget both provides opportunities for maintaining existing services and making additional investments while aiming to balance the impact on the tax levy by also considering opportunities for reductions. Londoners are encouraged to provide their feedback on the 2020-2023 Multi-Year Budget through the various public engagement opportunities outlined here.

Council approved the 2020 Water and Wastewater & Treatment rates on November 26, 2019. The 2.5% increase for each service, effective January 1, 2020, translates into a combined increase of approximately $27 for the average residential ratepayer consuming 200 m3 of water per year. The Water and Wastewater & Treatment budgets will be discussed at open houses and public meetings in January 2020, a Public Participation meeting on January 23, 2020, and then deliberated by Council on multiple dates in later January and throughout February. Final Council approval is scheduled for March 2, 2020.
