The City of London is open more hours to make it easier for you to access our services – at times and locations that are convenient for you. We’re here to help and we’ll be working more hours during mornings, evenings and Saturdays to serve you even better.

Here are the details so you can have greater access to City services.


Building Division (Zoning information and permit applications)

Licensing Office (Business, Rental Units and Taxi)

Development Services (Site Plan Approval, Subdivisions & Condominiums, etc)

Services Provided: Make an application or get information regarding subdivisions, site plans, condominiums and consents.

Public Service Call Centre

Services Provided: Submit a complaint or request for information regarding garbage collection and recycling, road maintenance works, sewers and drainage issues, parks maintenance and forestry or by-laws enforced by Development & Compliance Services and property standards complaints.

By-law Enforcement Complaints Call Centre

Services Provided: Submit a complaint or request for information regarding by-laws such as yard and lot maintenance, noise, graffiti, pool fence concerns, etc.

Business Connector – Helping Small Business

Location of Service: City Hall, 300 Dufferin Avenue, main floor

More Hours: Tuesdays, 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Services Provided: The first point of contact to help small, medium and start-up businesses navigate the process of starting or expanding a business.

From start to finish, the Business Connector can help identify the permits you will need, the sector-specific regulations you should be following, the programs available to you – and all the right people to assist you along the way.


Children’s Services – Applying for a Fee Subsidy

Location of Service: Citi Plaza, 355 Wellington Street, 2nd  Floor, Suite # 248

More Hours: 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. the third and fourth Tuesday of each month.

Contact: New clients can call 519-661-4834 for an appointment. Existing clients can speak to their Customer Support Associate.

Service Provided: City staff will provide information about the Fee Subsidy Program and assist family making applications or seeking a renewal.


Financial Support Requests for Housing

Location of Service: 379 Dundas Street

More Hours: On Fridays the office will be open longer until 4 p.m.

Services Provided: Staff will meet with residents to assess their eligibility for financial supports such as rent geared to income and the rent supplement program.



Location of Service: Staff will attend pre-arranged site visits for inspection related requests, or pre-arranged meetings at City Hall.

More Hours: Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for pre-arranged site inspections or meetings at City Hall. Monday to Friday staff are available for phone inquiries starting at 7:30 a.m. through to 5:30 p.m.

Services Provided: Pre-arranged site visits to properties/homes to conduct inspections or site reviews related to applications or permits sought for the tree protection by-law, boulevard tree by-law and requests for tree removal permits.  On weekdays more hours provide more time for the public to make phone inquiries.


Human Resource - Job interviews

Location of Service: City Hall, 300 Dufferin Avenue, 5th floor

More Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays our Talent Acquisition Staff will be available starting at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m. for interviews with candidates.

Services Provided: Talent Acquisition Staff will conduct pre-arranged interviews with candidates.


Marriage Licences, Commissioner of Oaths

Location of Service: City Hall, 300 Dufferin Avenue, main floor

More Hours: Tuesdays, 4:30 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Services Provided: Staff at the City Hall Reception Desk will help guide visitors and callers seeking information about City services during the additional service hours on Tuesdays and Saturdays and will receive mail/letters dropped off at City Hall. Staff from the City Clerk’s Office will be able to issue marriage licences, burial permits, renewals for dog and cat licences, book civil marriage ceremonies, Commissioner of Oaths services and sell London Transit bus tickets.          


Parks and Recreation Registration and Facility Bookings


More Hours: Tuesdays, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Services Provided: Staff will provide support primarily over the phone, email and online to help people with registrations, complete a rental for a birthday party, family gathering, gym or arena space and purchase or renew memberships.


Social Services – Ontario Works, Basic Income Supports, Help to Find a Job

Locations of Service: Citi Plaza (355 Wellington Street), Northland Mall (1275 Highbury Avenue N), South London Community Centre (1119 Jalna Boulevard), Westmount Shopping Centre (785 Wonderland Road South), Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre (244 Adelaide Street South)

Services Provided: Staff will help people determine if they qualify for assistance under the Ontario Works program which provides financial assistance, discretionary benefits and employment supports for individuals and families. Help includes how to apply and determining eligibility for supports such as basic needs, shelter expenses, discretionary benefits, a drug card and employment related expenses. Employment services will be available to help people secure and maintain employment, including job search supports, basic education, employment placement, job specific skills training, supports for self-employment, substance abuse recovery program, community participation, learning, earning and parenting.
