South-East Byron Secondary Plan

The existing South-East Byron Area Plan was approved in 1992.  An update/review of the plan will be undertaken by the City of London in late 2016-17.

On July 26, 2016, Municipal Council directed that a draft Terms of Reference for the Byron Gravel Pits Secondary Plan be circulated for review and comment prior to its consideration at a future meeting of the Planning and Environment Committee. The 76 hectare (188 acre) Study Area is bounded by Colonel Talbot Road to the west, Byron Baseline Road to the north, and the rear property boundaries of the Byron pits to the south and the east.

The purpose of the Secondary Plan is to undertake a comprehensive review of the Byron Gravel Pits and the surrounding area to determine the most appropriate future land uses for the site. The Secondary Plan will also consider the future servicing requirements, transportation, and open space and environmental matters in determining the future land uses in the Study Area.

A public meeting to discuss these terms of reference will be held on October 17th at 4pm in the Council Chambers.  Please review the document list below.  Comments can be provided to Bruce Page prior to the meeting or directly to the committee members at the public meeting.
