Community Information Meeting #1

Where Are We Now?
June 2016 to February 2017
Staff reviewed the information collected through the two previous community information meetings, written submissions, and conversions. Staff also collected data during visits to the Hamilton Road Area and completed secondary research including examination of best practices for CIPs by other Ontario municipalities. As part of this review, an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the area was completed.
Further, staff started writing the draft Hamilton Road Area CIP including the vision, objectives, and strategies based on what was heard during consultation. The background section of the CIP includes information on Provincial legislation and City policy which shaped the CIP Project Area and community improvement actions.
The third community meeting was held on March 30, 2017 at the BMO Centre.
April 2017 to June 2017
Staff continue to review the feedback received at the third community meeting and are working to finalize the draft CIP for Municipal Council adoption.
