Green Development Strategy

green building design The London Home Builders Association, City of London and University of Western Ontario collaborated to initiate a community discussion on a Green Development Strategy for London. The event was attended by approximately 100 people, including members of the home building and development industry, the green technology manufacturing industry, the University of Western Ontario, Fanshawe College, the London Economic Development Corporation, Canada Mortgage and Housing, and City of London Engineering and Planning Staff. Bob Willard , author of the The Sustainability Advantage and The NEXT Sustainability Wave, and a prominent expert on the economic & financial advantages of going green (sustainability), delivered a presentation on the business case for sustainability. This was followed by a presentation by representatives from Minto Group Inc. (Lyle Scott – Manager of Sustainable Development and Leonard Hart – Green Brand Manager) who spoke about Minto’s green corporate culture and the green development activities that they are engaged in.
 
Bob Willard made a Presentation on the Business Model for Green Development to members of the public, London Home Builders Association, London Development Institute, University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College representatives and City of London representatives on December 2nd, 2008 at a Green Development Strategy Forum.

The London Home Builders, London Development Institute, the University of Western Ontario and the City of London convened the next day to undertake a workshop to brainstorm ideas for a Green Development Strategy.
