Frequently Asked Questions

Who should I contact if I have a question or concern related to human rights and the Corporation of the City of London?

The City of London has a Human Rights Office with a staff member available to discuss human rights-related concerns and questions that may pertain to the Corporation of the City of London (e.g., City employees, members of Council, etc.). To contact the City of London’s Human Rights Office call 519-661-2500 ext. 0180.

I have heard that Ontario’s human rights system is changing. How is the new human rights system going to be different?

One of the main changes to the human rights system in Ontario, when the new legislation came into force on June 30, 2008, is that a human rights complaint will be filed directly with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, instead of with the Ontario Human Rights Commission. For more information, visit the website of the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
