Municipal Elections

London is made up of 14 ward areas*, each represented by one Council member. Elections occur every four years. The boundaries for eight of London's 14 wards changed under a by-law passed May 25, 2009. The complete by-law is available on our website and includes a map showing the new ward boundaries. The June 6, 2009 edition of Living in the City gave public notice notice of this by-law.

The revised ward boundaries come into force on the day the new council of the City of London is organized following the regular municipal election in 2010, with the regular municipal election to be held in 2010 to be conducted as if the ward changes were already in force.

London elementary and secondary schools are under the control of four school boards: the The Thames Valley District School Board, the London District Catholic School Board , le Conseil scolaire de district du Centre-Sud-Ouest and le Conseil scolaire de district des écoles catholiques du Sud-Ouest.

The next Municipal Election will take place Monday, October 25, 2010.

The current City Council was elected November 13, 2006 and will remain in office until Ontario's next Municipal Elections in 2010. Its meeting sessions are open to the public as well as being broadcast to the community via cable television.

The 2006 official election results - which include the School Board Trustees - are available as a pdf document.
